Roofs. How long do they last? What do I need to maintain mine? In this post I will give you some data on roofs and what to expect.
Different roof types have different life expectancies.
Rolled/Asphalt roofing. Typically, in Florida this type of roofing has a life expectancy of five to ten years.
3 Tab Shingle roofing. This style can wear as fast and ten years and typically is reaching the end of its life at fifteen years.
Architectural Shingle roofing. This is the most commonly used roofing and has a life span in Florida of usually eighteen to twenty plus years.
Tile Roofing. Tile roofing has a much longer life span. They typically last fifty years or much longer if they aren't damaged.
There are many other roofing types bit these are the most common. Having a roofer check your roofing annual for defects and maintenance will keep any roofing lasting to its fullest extent.
