Do I need an inspection on new construction? Yes, you do and here is why. New doesn’t mean it has been done correctly or that everything that was done is operating properly and safely. New doesn’t eliminate human error.
I do new construction inspections every week and every week I write reports on new construction with defects on them that need to be repaired/finished or brought to the builder’s attention. Do not pass on the opportunity to bring in your own inspector to put another set of eyes on your home.
Here are some examples of typical call outs on new construction:
Insulation missing or not properly installed
Weeping holes on windows painted over
Unfilled holes in exterior wall
Improperly secured plumbing
Shielding insulation behind showers/tubs and canned lighting
At Home Inspectors Group we have two phases of inspections we do on new construction. The Pre-Drywall inspection and the Pre-Final Walk Through inspection. Get everything done that needs to be fixed before you close and have to fight to get the builder back out to correct problems after the fact. For questions about New Construction inspections don’t hesitate to contact me at 407-301-5936. I have discount pricing on New Construction inspection packages. Home Inspectors Group
